The One Show - Rickshaw Challenge 2018

Regular viewers of the BBC’s The One Show will know that this year’s The One Show's Rickshaw Challenge begins on Friday 9th November from Calais.  The eight-day cycle ride will see the whole team attempt a 423-mile journey from Calais to Salford.  This year, the team will stop off at Hook on Sunday November 11th and the following day will pass through Bramley on their way to their next stop at Royal Wootton Bassett (12th November).

It would be fantastic if Bramley villagers could show their support!  You can follow the progress of the team here:  https://pudsey.viewranger.com/

The One Show's Rickshaw Challenge will be live from Calais tonight ahead of starting tomorrow morning.

A team of six young people, all of whom have been supported by BBC Children in Need funded projects, will ride the rickshaw, joined by The One Show’s Matt Baker, who will pedal alongside them.

The team will cycle 31 miles through the Channel tunnel to Folkestone and then make their way across England and Wales before finally finishing in Salford on Friday 16 November.

Team Rickshaw will take on the epic journey in a bid to raise money for BBC Children in Need and help make a difference to young lives. Over the next week The One Show will feature special surprises for the young riders, and a chance to hear directly from them about the experiences that have led them to taking on the Rickshaw Challenge.

The challenge will end on 16 November during BBC Children in Need’s Appeal show, but viewers can tune in to the show every day from 8 November to follow the team’s journey.

Keep an eye on the active map (link above) and pop out to wish them well as they pass on through.   They will be following the route of The Street from the A33 at Sherfield On Loddon, all the way to the A340/Queens College Arms.  We won't know the expected times as this will be dependent on the weather, traffic and various other factors.  Keep an eye on that map and let us have Bramley give them a great show of support !!
